What Stock Photo Checker keeps, for how long, and why. Last updated 13 October 2026.
Your photos
Each uploaded original is stored on the server's disk (never in the database) only until its check finishes, then deleted. Photos in an album you haven't started wait there for at most 7 days. The report keeps a reduced preview (1400 pixels), a thumbnail, the findings and a small fingerprint of the picture (a few hundred bytes of numbers, used only to spot your own duplicates), until you delete the album. Your photos are never shown to anyone else, and never used for anything but checking them for you.
Where your photos are checked
The technical checks — size, focus, camera shake, noise, exposure, tilt, file, colour, keywords, duplicates and similar shots — all run on Stock Photo Checker's own server, including the two small AI models that find the main subject and group similar shots. Photos leave the server only for the paid AI checks described below, and only for an account that has them, in an album where they are switched on.
The AI checks (invited accounts only, during early access)
Content check. When an album has it on, a 1024-pixel copy of each photo and a 100% crop of its most detailed area (up to 1024 pixels square) — with all camera and location data removed — are sent to Google Gemini's API to look for logos, text, people and property, and to judge its commercial appeal. Google does not use data from paid Gemini API accounts to improve its products.
AI-image check. For an album marked as AI-generated, a copy of each image of up to 2048 pixels and up to six close-up crops of it, all with metadata removed, are sent to Google Gemini's API to look for rendering mistakes. Google does not use data from paid Gemini API accounts to improve its products.
Your account
For an account: your email, a salted hash of your password (none if you only sign in with Google), and a log of sign-ins and actions on this site (with IP address) for security. Messages you send through the Contact page are kept so they can be answered. When you sign up, a one-time code is emailed to you through our mail provider to confirm the address.
Cookies and tracking
Only the cookies the site needs to work: your sign-in, a short-lived session (for the sign-in question), and a security token that protects forms. Your Light / Dark choice is kept in your own browser. There are no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is shared or sold. Search engines may index the public information pages, like this one; albums and everything behind a sign-in are kept out.
Deleting
Delete an album to remove its previews and reports. Ask the site owner (Contact) to delete your account and everything in it.
